Anji Kat

Music for the

Anji Kat is an award-winning singer/songwriter sought after for her heart-touching lyrics, her down to earth wisdom,

and her heavenly voice.

One thing is certain,

Anji creates a magical experience for her audience.

Born and raised in beautiful South Dakota, Anji showed musical aptitude from a very early age.  She started to show interest in music and specifically singing at the age of two, and was encouraged and inspired by her grandfather Glenn, a self-taught jazz drummer for nearly 50+ years. He gave her the nickname "Anji Kat" and inspired her musical tastes in early jazz and blues.  While she has been singing and performing since the age of 8,  Anji was also a talented wordsmith, crafting elegant poetry since high school.  When she discovered the magic of melding words with melody, like a supernova, a songwriter was born.

After much regional success as a performer and a long-time career as an inspirational speaker, she was highly encouraged to record her first CD of original material.  She joined forces with the brilliant Daniel Nahmod of Humanity Music Company and released her debut CD "That's Who I Am" in 2014, which received an award for Best Folk Album from Akademia Music as well as an Honorable Mention in the PosiFest Posi-Awards through Empower Music & Arts.  Building upon that success, she returned to the studio with Daniel to record her highly anticipated follow-up CD entitled "Undone", which features her most poignant, mature and inspirational material to date.  Her new CD was released June 2, 2016 to critical acclaim , including being selected as a finalist in the Posi Awards songwriting contest in 2017.

She is joined by her partner, Christopher Cesta, guitarist and graduate of GIT (Guitar Institute of Technology).  Christopher Cesta has been playing guitar for most of his life, it seems as if he was born playing it.  With his interest sparked as a child, he started his studies at 13 years old and performed with several bands through his school years around his hometown of Troy, NY and toured around the Northeast coast until 1990.  Aiming for excellence, he went to California to study at the prestigious Guitar Institute of Technology at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA.  While there he studied with notable talents including Carl Schroeder, Keith Wyatt, Tom Kolb, Scott Henderson, Matt Smith, as well as the founders of GIT, Howard Roberts and Pat Hicks.

Upon graduating from GIT, Christopher returned to his home state to resume playing, touring and studying.  During his spare time he continued raising the bar for himself by studying with musician and composer Maria Zementauski, further developing his classical and flamenco styles.  A well-known and sought-after guitar instructor, Christopher took pleasure in sharing his knowledge with guitar enthusiasts, students from ages 6 to 60.

What magic Anji weaves with her voice and lyrics,
Christopher illuminates with his brilliant guitar genius...

Together, they now call Denver, Colorado their home,
and they continue to share their incredible music, talents and messages of hope and healing across the country.
